Q: How long does the Wahl Barber Battle 3 Run?

A: The Wahl Barber Battle 3 (the “Contest”) begins on or about 11:00:01 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on June 1, 2019 and ends at 10:59:59 a.m. ET on July 31, 2019 (“Contest Period”).

Q: Is the Wahl Barber Battle 3 available in all 50 States?

A: The Contest is void in Arizona, Maryland, Nebraska, and North Dakota. If your primary residence is in one of these States you are not eligible to participate.

Q: Why is the Wahl Barber Battle 3 void in my State?

A: Each state or county creates its own regulations regarding contests and other promotions. Not all states legally allow every type of contest. Laws often are changed and we review each state every year to confirm eligibility.

Q: Is the Wahl Barber Battle 3 available in U.S. Territories such as Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands?

A: Those Territories are not eligible for Wahl Barber Battle 3.

Q: Where is the Wahl Barber Battle 3 being held?

A: The Wahl Barber Battle 3 is being held exclusively online on www.wahlbarberbattle.com.

Q: Are only members of the Wahl Ambassador Program able to participate?

A: Each Entrant must be a member of the Wahl Ambassador Program. Those not already a member of the Ambassador Program can enroll during the entry process. Enrollment is free.

Q: Is there an Entry Fee?

A: A Contest Entry fee of $75.00 USD is required to be paid via credit card at the time of Entry.

Q: Who is eligible to participate in the Contest and how old do you have to be?

A: Each Entrant must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in their state of residence at the time of Entry, and must be a legal resident of the United States or the District of Columbia, excluding the States of Arizona, Maryland, Nebraska, and North Dakota. Proof of current Barber/Cosmetology Licensure (as issued by Entrant’s resident state) will be required. Entries must include a valid ID Number/License Number. Each Entrant must be a member of the Wahl Ambassador Program. Those not already a member of the Ambassador Program will be enrolled at the time of Entry. Enrollment in the Ambassador Program is free. As of the Contest start date, Entrants must have: 1. Authorized Internet access that utilizes a web browser and/or active data plan; 2. A mobile phone with SMS/text messaging capabilities; 3.  Access to a video recording device. Employees, officers and directors of WAHL Clipper Corporation (“Sponsor”) and its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, and members of their immediate families (spouse, parent, children, siblings, and their respective spouses and children, regardless of where they reside), and persons living in the same household (whether or not related) of such employees are ineligible to enter or win.

Q: What does the Contest consist of?

A: The Wahl Barber Battle 3 consists of a video contest in which each Entrant must create and upload a video that displays the Entrant creating three different cuts/styles: A Mid/Low Bald Fade, a Caesar, and a Modern Mullet (the “Entry” or the “Video). Refer to the Official Rules for complete requirements.

Q: Who is sponsoring the Contest?

The Contest is sponsored by WAHL Clipper Corporation, 2900 North Locust Street, Sterling, Illinois 61081.

Q. Who are the judges?

A: Entries will be judged by the Sponsor, Sponsor’s representatives, members of the Wahl Education & Artistic Team (W.E.A.T.), and Wahl Select Barbers (the “Judges”). No information regarding Entries or judging will be disclosed and Judges’ decisions are final.

Q: How do I Enter the Contest?

A: All Entries must be submitted online at www.wahlbarberbattle.com (the “Website”) in Video format. Each Video must show work on a live model representing three different cuts. 1. Mid/Low Bald Fade; 2. Caesar; and 3. Modern Mullet (the “Video”). Each Entry must include the Entrant’s first name, last name, email address, home address, phone number, date-of-birth, optional Social Media accounts, if any, and an optional short bio. In addition each Entrant will need to provide a business/employer name, business/employer address, city, state, ZIP code, and phone number; valid State ID Number/Barber or Cosmetology License Number; a valid credit card number, name as it appears on the credit card, ZIP code, credit card CVV code, and credit card expiration date. Information for each model, including their name, email address and date-of-birth is also required at the time of Entry. Completed Videos must be uploaded to the Website, using the upload instructions provided on the Website. Video should include only the Entrant and one model for each of the three style/cut requirements. Limit one Contest Entry per person. Normal Internet access and usage charges imposed by your online service will apply. Standard data rates may apply to Entries submitted via mobile device.

Q: What is the final deadline for submitting my entry?

A: All Entries must be complete and received by 10:59:59 a.m. ET, July 31, 2019.

Q: Can I return to the Website to add more information to my Entry?

A: Yes. You will create an account and login through a passcode that will be texted to your mobile phone each time you login.

Q: Where is my confirmation email?

A: If you do not receive a confirmation email after creating your login, please be sure to check your spam/junk inbox. If you are still unable to locate the account confirmation email, contact our support team at wahlbarberbattle@gmail.com.

Q: Am I required to provide a personal bio?

A: No, the bio portion of the entry is optional, but you are encouraged to provide your personal story and background.

Q: Will my personal bio be part of the judging process?

A: No, the bio is optional but encouraged so that the Sponsor can get to know the Entrants and their ideas about the profession and their individual passions.

Q: Why do I need to provide my business/employer information?

A: Business information, even if you are self-employed and/or a sole proprietor, is required for the Sponsor to properly administer the Contest.

Q: Why do I need a model release form and where do I submit it?

A: Wahl requires that signed model releases be uploaded by all Entrants at the time of Entry. Follow the instructions on the Entry form for submitting and uploading the release forms electronically. All Entrants are encouraged to have releases signed by each model during filming since contacting models later may prove difficult. If any model is under 18, the model/talent release must also be signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Q: What if I have a model who is younger than 18 years old?

A: Younger models are allowed. For each of your underage models you will need both the model and their parent or legal guardian to sign the release form. There is an option for this on the form.

Q: How many videos can I enter?

A: Limit one Contest Entry per person. Any attempt by any Contest Entrant to obtain more than one Entry in the Contest by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations or any other methods will void that Entrant’s Entry. Disputes as to who submitted a Contest Entry will be deemed submitted by the Authorized Account Holder of the email address submitted at the time of registration. “Authorized Account Holder” is defined as the natural person assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the email address in question. All Contest Entry information shall become the exclusive property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Q: Am I allowed to use any modified tools?

A: Yes as long as all tools and all components of any tool are only Wahl brand.

Q: Am I allowed to use shears or straight razors?

A: Entrants may use only WAHL® clippers, trimmers, and shavers as part of the Contest and are responsible for procuring these tools. Shears and straight razors must not be used. Brushes, capes, and other styling products that are not part of the WAHL® catalog may be used but at no time may an Entrant display, film, photograph, mention or describe any product names, brand names, logos or other identifiable marks other than WAHL®.

Q: How were the allowable cuts determined?

A: The cuts, styles and judging criteria were determined by the Sponsor, members of the Wahl Education & Artistic Team and in consultation with previous Barber Battle winners.

Q: Am I allowed to use color?

A: No design work or color enhancements may be used. Only style, cut and technique will be considered. Refer to the complete Judging Criteria in the Official Rules and be sure to watch the sample video at the Website.

Q: Am I allowed to use any form of enhancement?

A: No design work or color enhancements may be used.

Q: Am I allowed to use styling products?

A: You may use styling products but do not say, name, display, film or include the brand name, brand identity, packaging, logo or other identifiable marks of any styling product.

Q: Am I allowed to say or use my name in the Entry?

A: You may say your own name and your city during the narration of your Entry. You should not give any specific address or location information, information about your business name or location, or the name of your employer.

Q: Am I allowed to show my shop/business name in the Entry?

A: Do not say, name, display, film or include the business name, business brand identity, business logo, business location or any other identifiable information.

Q: Am I allowed to use still photographs in the Entry?

A: No, please use video footage only, and only of yourself, your work and your models.

Q. Am I allowed to have music in my video?

A: No. Entries must not contain music, songs, recordings or any radio, television or other music programming. Be sure to turn off all TVs and radios that may be playing in the background.

Q: Am I allowed to use film clips, video clips, background footage or other content in the Entry?

A: No. Entries must not contain any photos, clips, backgrounds or other content, or public art or architecture, images, or artwork not specifically created by Entrant.

Q: Am I allowed to use a voiceover in the Entry?

A: Yes, as long as the video contains only your own voice as the Entrant and those of your models.

Q: Should I include narration or other dialogue?

A: Yes. It is strongly recommended that you provide a narration and descriptions or explanations of your cuts, your concept, and your techniques. Your professionalism and narration could be worth up to 25 points. Be sure to include only your voice and those of your models.

Q: Does the Sponsor own the rights to my Video?

A: See complete Official Rules for details. By entering, each Entrant grants to the Sponsor and its licensees a world-wide, perpetual, non-revocable, royalty-free, sub-licensable license to publish his/her Video as well as derivative works based thereon on the Website, in Sponsor’s apps, social media, television programming and through any and all other media, now known or hereafter devised, in any manner related to the Contest without prior notice, approval or compensation. Entrant represents and warrants that the Entrant has received all permissions from models appearing in the Video to grant the rights granted herein and that Sponsor and its licensee’s use of the Videos as provided for herein will not violate the rights of any third party. If requested, Entrant agrees to provide such permissions in writing or another form acceptable to Sponsor. Sponsor may moderate Videos before posting.

Q: How many Contest entries can I have?

A: The contest is limited to ONE Contest entry per person for the entire Contest.

Q: How many Video Contest winners will there be?

A: There will be three winners. The Entry with the highest score accumulated throughout the judging process will be declared the Grand Prize winner; the Entry with the second highest score accumulated throughout the judging process will be declared the Second Prize Winner; the Entry with the third highest score accumulated throughout the judging process will be declared the Third Prize Winner with corresponding prizes awarded.

Q: What are the Video Contest prizes?

A: Grand Prize: Honorary one-year membership to the Wahl Education & Artistic Team (“W.E.A.T.”); the complete Five-Star line of Wahl products; a Wahl prize package including branded merchandise to be determined by the Sponsor. Approximate retail value (“ARV”) $1,400.00 USD. Second Prize: Three clippers, three trimmers and Finale; Membership in Wahl Select Barbers; a Wahl prize package. ARV $700.00 USD. Third Prize: Barber Combo and Finale; a Wahl prize package. ARV $300.00 USD. Total ARV of all prizes is $2,400.00.
